Introduction
Aim is the development of a community based on a portal and tools for widely used web browsers (i.e. Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer) which collects and consumes meta data about the web.
The common term for denoting such a community is social network: A network among individuals used to share information.
The community
The community will consist of basically every web user willing to provide meta data or consuming it.
The portal
The portal will provide the access to the massiv amount of meta data collected.
Tools for web browsers
The tools will support the community to easily collect the meta data while browsing.
Meta data
The meta data is data about whole web sites, single web pages and web services. This data is not provided directly by the publishers (and sometimes even can't) but produced by the visitors instead (e.g. page rating, page categorization, page linking, ...).
Web sites
The web sites are collections of cohesive web pages. They are mainly determined by the domain (e.g. eecoo.net)
Web pages
The web pages are the single pages you can display with the web browser.
Web services
The web services are interfaces to logic implemented by a web service provider.

Phases
| Number | Phase | Definition | Status | Responsibility | Results |
| 1 | Develop a preliminary part of the system. | Develop a small part of the system (tools and the portal) for testing among friends. What parts the system should be composed of will be defined at the beginning of this phase. The features of the resulting system should be as complete as necessary to deploy the system in public. |

| 2 | Test and evaluate feedback. | Publish the system among friends and use the feedback to prepare the preliminary part of the system for publication. This means fixing bugs and extending user manuals/documentation. The portal will also be evaluated and extened. Maybe some realy necessary features could be added. |

| 3 | Publicate the preliminary part of the system. | Make all parts of the system available to the public. Tools should be uploaded to extension repositories and the portal should be promoted (maybe using commercials like banners, links, ...). |
